Speaker Cavinder Responds to Member Testing Posistive for COVID-19

Today we announce that a Member of the House has tested posistive for COVID-19. We have not had any suspected cases of the virus since its beginning in March 2020. All Members of the House are up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccinations.
The Member has a cough and a noticeable deepen voice. Other Members are asked to follow CDC guidance and limit contact with the Member. Other Members, including the Speaker, will be getting tested over the next ten day period to ensure no one elese has gotten COVID-19.
The Member is not expected to be taking an oral COVID-19 medication as the Member is not at high-risk. However, other Members are working to ensure they do not get COVID-19 to the best extent possible and will prescribe oral medications should that be necessary.
As prescribed by law, the Member has been reported as ill under The Sick Reporting Act and the Health Advisor of the House has been notified.
