LaPORTE—Speaker Leo W. Cavinder announces that he will be resiging as Speaker of the House at the start of the 2nd Session of the 2023 Assembly.
Speaker Leo W. Cavinder announces that effective on July 1st, he will be resiging as Speaker of the House of Commons. An prepared speech will be given prior to his resignation and election will be held that respective day. Members that plan to nomination themselves for Speakership should have a speech prepared as to why they believe that they should be the next Speaker.
Pursuant to the Rules of the House, a quorum must be present for an election to occur and Members may vote by proxy should they be unable to physically attend. Leo W. Cavinder will still remain a Member of the House.
